It’s been a whirlwind couple of years for Uncle Jed, from winning a reality TV show to going through a major record label and starting side project Luna Grand.

Now Uncle Jed are back and doing what they love most – making sweet music! In 2017 the family band are putting their creative energies into a Christmas album and a tour in December, so expect there to be a few festive delights in the mix! In the words of front woman Laura Stitt, “It has been a dream of mine for a very long time to make a Christmas album, and finally it’s happening.” Don’t miss this special festive show, where you can also expect to hear some of the songs that captivated the nation’s hearts on Australia’s Got Talent.

You’ve spent a couple of years working on Luna Grand; what inspired you to produce a Christmas album under the Uncle Jed brand?

The idea of a Christmas album got thrown around a bit at the start of this year and the more we thought about it, the more it sounded like a good idea to us. Having performed on AGT as Uncle Jed, we felt like a Christmas album would be more suited to the Uncle Jed sound. Also, Uncle Jed are known for taking a well known song and putting their own spin on it, so it seemed perfect for us to take this on as Uncle Jed. Luna Grand will continue to be our side project, where we work on purely original songs and give ourselves the freedom to be as artistic as we like.

What’s the vibe of the album?

We have written one original, This Christmas Love, and apart from that they’re all Christmas songs. Most are well known carols. There are some carols we’ve explored some new sonic flavours with, and some others we’ve kept true to song. Hopefully our fans don’t mind our risky arrangements. Carols are so well known and have been sung for so long, we know that changing the sound is very risky, but we all love the end result.

Can we expect some old favourites at the show, along with the festive cheer?

Absolutely. We’ll be playing some of the songs we played on AGT, along with other songs fans have heard before. It will be nice to play them again after a little break.

Top three favourite Christmas carols?

Thats a tuffy! Three songs I know we all love that are on this album are 1. Silent Night 2. O Come all ye Faithful 3. The Christmas Song

Are you working on any new material moving into the new year; what’s on the horizon for the next 12 months?

The Christmas album has inspired us to release some more Uncle Jed music, so we’ll have a quick holiday after this tour and get working on some more Jed music. We have some new Luna Grand songs to record and release too, so we’ll be busy come next year.

Thanks guys.
