Commencing at 7:30pm on Wednesday 20th March at the Glasshouse Theatre, the Hastings Cancer Trust is delighted to present Rhonda Burchmore in CABARET for one very special and memorable evening of song and dance.
Recognised as one of Australia’s leading cabaret performers, Rhonda has forged a lengthy and successful career in show business, and she continues to delight audiences across the country.
Winner of the 2014 Cabaret Icon Award at the International Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Rhonda has taken lead roles in many of the iconic musical shows, including Guys & Dolls, Annie Get Your Gun, Mame and also as Tanya in the original Australian production of Mama Mia!
So come along to the night and be thoroughly entertained by Rhonda in our magnificent Glasshouse Theatre, with some fantastic song and dance cabaret by an absolute icon and class act of the Australian music industry.
All profits from the evening will be put to work providing relief and services to projects selected by the Trustees of the Hastings Cancer Trust based on their value to the local community.
While there are indeed many excellent national charities who spread the value of their work across Australia, the focus of the Hastings Cancer Trust is different. Our fundraising activities are aimed exclusively at delivering value to local cancer patients, those caring for them and also those people treating them.
Since 2005, almost $1,000,000 has been raised and granted by the Trust to cancer related projects, and for that we thank the local individuals, groups and businesses who have made that possible.
Within Australia, 1 in 3 men and 1 in 4 women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 75. Government funding for cancer services is critical; however, particularly in regional areas this funding can only go so far. The Hastings Cancer Trust helps to fill the gaps, so that local cancer patients receive better treatment and care here in our region.
Over the years the Trust has funded a range of important technical and educational services, as well as new medical equipment. As part of the 2018 Grants Program, over $80,000 was awarded to recipients from a whole variety of cancer care providers spread across our region.
Diagnostic Medical Equipment, Training Programs, Support for Wauchope Palliative Care, Hastings Home Hospice and the Port Macquarie Breast Cancer Support Group were examples of some of the projects funded by the Hastings Cancer Trust in 2018.
Groups from Kempsey, Wauchope, Port Macquarie and the Macleay Valley were all recipients of awards in 2018, and we take great pride in being able to extend our financial support to all parts of our region.
Similarly, we would also like to formally acknowledge our wonderful fundraising groups and sponsors across the Hastings/Macleay region who continue to assist the Trust and our support of cancer patients and clinicians in the region.
Also, as a volunteer charity, we always welcome new supporters. If you or your organisation would like to donate, partner or engage with the Trust and make a difference for the cancer patients, carers and clinicians of our region, then please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or on Facebook at Hastings Cancer Trust.

Finally and most importantly, we would like to thank and acknowledge our wonderful Gold Sponsors for this event, Forty Winks Port Macquarie, John Oxley Motors and Holiday Coast Credit Union and Silver Sponsors FOCUS, Fuji Xerox Business Centre and Rydges Port Macquarie. Additional support for this event has also been provided by Triple M-MNC, Glasshouse Theatre and Port News.
So come and enjoy a wonderful night out at Port Macquarie’s premier entertainment venue. Sit back, listen and delight in the remarkable and unique skills of the one and only Rhonda Burchmore, knowing you are supporting the treatment and management of cancer in the Hastings/Macleay region.
