Waterside living at its absolute best, custom built with meticulous attention to detail using only the best in materials and quality finishes; the April FOCUS Home of the Month is brought to you by Northcorp Builders.

Chrissy Jones had the pleasure of taking a walk through the magnificent waterfront residence that boasts panoramic views of the adjacent Hastings River waterway.

From the onset you know something special awaits; this architectural masterpiece adds elegance to Port Macquarie canal living. The home represents a rare opportunity to purchase a brand new build on the waterfront. Contact Elders Port Macquarie for further information.

Having an elegant Hampton Style exterior facade, encompassing rendered brickwork and James Hardie cladding, the home is architecturally designed and master built to maximise light, style, scale and outlook. All are complemented beautifully by landscaped cottage garden flower beds and a white aluminium picket fence.

A textured concrete drive leads to a double garage fitted with auto panel lift door and internal access. The drive, flanked by manicured lawns and garden beds, also leads to the tiled entry portico.

Entry to the home is via a grand timber entrance door into the foyer that has Heartridge laminate floating flooring underfoot, supplied and installed by Port Macquarie Carpet One Floor & Home. They add sophistication and a refined touch, having been crafted to reflect the true beauty of wood. The intricate details of the timber grain, colouration and finishing of each plank ensures the floors are a highlight throughout the home.

To the right is internal access to the garage and workshop; to the left is a striking set of handcrafted Blackbutt timber treads that lead into the void above to the second level of the residence. The staircase is framed by a frameless glass balustrade one side and has a stainless steel handrail the other for safety.

A series of feature light-filled voids, floor to ceiling glass and raised ceilings create a sense of grandeur, with a modern-day twist. A wide hallway guides you past the powder room, tucked neatly away behind a wooden sliding cavity door. Exquisite Carrera marble floor and wall tiling, from Colortile Tiles With Style, encase the room on three sides. An antique style, freestanding vanity cupboard has an in-bench hand basin and picture framed mirror above.

To the right is the guest master suite. Luxurious, it is fitted out with carpet and roller blinds from Port Macquarie Carpet One Floor & Home, has a well-appointed walk-in robe with both his and hers hanging and shelving space, ceiling fan and ducted air-conditioning.

The guest master has its own private patio and adjoining en-suite. Carrera marble tiling continues in the en-suite, surrounding the free-standing oval Gianna bath and frameless glass screened shower recess. Gloss white subway tiling is placed behind the antique-style vanity cupboard and picture frame mirror.

Designed and installed by Designer Living Kitchens, the kitchen is any home cook’s dream! Equipped with plenty of overhead and under bench cabinets, Essastone counters, mirrored splash back, island bench and SMEG appliances, including an induction electric cooktop, gas oven and concealed range-hood, the kitchen is both stylish and functional.

The island bench doubles as a breakfast bar and a workspace, having the dishwasher and built-in rubbish bin drawer integrated, plus deep, soft close drawer storage.

Alongside the kitchen are the walkthrough butler’s pantry and laundry. An efficient design, the cabinetry in both has plenty of both under bench and overhead storage. Custom built shelving on one wall in the pantry gives a convenient space for condiments and cookbooks. Marble tiling in the laundry is practical, along with the glass door that opens out on to the outdoor drying area.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the open plan L-shaped dining and lounge – a huge space that offers 180-degree waterway views when dining or relaxing in front of the TV.  Floor to ceiling glass sliding doors three sides, supplied by Mid Coast Windows, frame the majestic waterway views and open out on to the tiled outdoor area. All combine to create an indoor/outdoor entertaining area second to none.

Ascend the timber staircase to the second level, where you are greeted by more waterway views via a strategically placed picture window. Plush carpet, twist pile solution dyed nylon from Port Macquarie Carpet One Floor & Home is underfoot throughout, adding a luxurious yet durable floor covering that has been designed to withstand wear that comes from everyday use in busy households.

Both family bedrooms are a generous size, are a mirror image, each having built-in robes and adjoining en-suite exquisitely fitted out with Carrera marble tiling, antique look vanity cupboard, picture frame mirror and glass screened shower recess.

Sectioning the family bedrooms from the master bedroom is the media room. A private parents’ retreat, it is a quiet space to kick back, relax and watch a movie in total comfort.

The master bedroom and en-suite are reminiscent of a 5 Star Motel, boasting magnificent views of the Hastings River through a bank of windows, plus a set of louvre windows allowing direction of waterway breezes.

A private retreat overflowing with style, the master has its own balcony – a perfect spot to enjoy the end of the day with a glass of wine, or to start the day with a morning cuppa whilst taking in the view.

The two-way walk around his and her robe is a fantastic addition, providing both hanging and shelving space two sides. Walk through to the adjoining en-suite, where you are encased by sophistication and style. Carrera marble floor to ceiling tiles, an antique-look freestanding double vanity cupboard with twin hand-basins and picture frame mirror above, a freestanding oval Gianna bath, plus a frameless glass screened corner shower recess add to the luxury.

Fittings and fixtures throughout are top of the range, including the intercom and alarm system; the residence is NBN ready and has ducted reverse cycle air conditioning zoned to every individual room. Complete with a jetty and pontoon, it has been designed to make the most of its surrounds.

Absolute perfection; the home is idyllic.  Master built in Hamptons style in a waterfront setting, Northcorp Builders and associated trades have excelled.

Steve Curry, Northcorp Building: FOCUS is featuring the executive residence, found at 64B The Anchorage this issue, that you have recently completed for the owners. What is the standout feature of the residence in your mind?

I personally like the views; also, the bedrooms are all large, with their own en-suite bathrooms.
