Jason Harris started doing Martial Arts when he was 11 years old and was teaching at 16. Over the 23 years of teaching, Jason has seen the evolution of martial arts and the whole fitness industry.

To survive in business, you have to grow and follow the trends – and that is exactly what Jason has done. From initially teaching only Martial Arts to 6 kids in the Port Macquarie CWA hall, he has now grown into a full-time business teaching a range of fitness and combat classes to a wide range of people all ages.

“I want people to challenge themselves, because I believe that’s what you have to do to get results.”

Jason is one who definitely practices what he preaches when it comes to health and competition. He has been athlete prepared to test himself with the some of the best fighters in Australia  – and still does, at nearly 40 years of age.

“I do this for the reason; I like to test myself and strive to constantly improve in the sport of kick boxing, mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

“People who train with us at ACFC want more out of their training instead of the normal set routine. We focus on fun classes tailored to suit all fitness levels. The fitness classes we offer are freestyle; this means it will be different every time, ensuring no boredom, and it keeps you guessing what’s next – this way, you will be motivated.”

Jason has incorporated a lot of the routines that a fighter would do to get fit for a bout into the fitness classes offered – guaranteeing results, because as everyone knows, fighters are some of the fittest athletes you will ever meet.

“I want to change people’s lives and make a difference to every aspect of them – not only a person’s health, but their confidence as well. That’s why we also teach combat classes from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, boxing, kickboxing and self defense, because with a strong body, there should also be a strong mind. Allegiance Combat & Fitness Centre is a holistic approach to your health, because it’s all about looking better, feeling better and walking around with your head held high and being proud of yourself.

“I don’t want to be known as follower; I want to be an innovator. We are always adding new classes to challenge people in different ways, and the ACFC boot camps are an example of this. They are always different, fun, challenging and rewarding to complete.

“ACFC will be supporting the Relay for Life again this year – anyone who would like to join our team is very welcome; it’s for a great cause. We like to be conscious about supporting local events and giving back to community as much as possible.

“My goal is to provide a facility where everybody feels welcome regardless of gender, age or ability. I want to motivate people to improve their lifestyle by encouraging discipline and hard work, along with having fun when training. By combining these things you are guaranteed to get results.”
