I’m Daniel Hargy, President of the Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club.
Tell us a little bit about the Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club … how and when was it started? What’s some of the history behind the club?
We’re a community based club, which was started by Ray Thurling and other like-minded people in the early 1970s.
Events were originally held on various properties throughout the Port Macquarie-Hastings area, before eventually moving to our current location in 2001.
Roughly how many members does the club have today?
We currently have in excess of 250 members.
Where does the club regularly hold its meets and events?
Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club is located on Cowarra Access Road (off Burrawan Forest Drive) approximately 10 minutes south of the Port Macquarie Service Centre (the donut).
Our address is 60 Cowarra Access Road (off Burrawan Forest Drive), Lake Innes, NSW 2446.
The club will be hosting Round Three of the 2015 NSW Motocross Junior State Titles this year. When and where will the event be held, and describe the action that will be taking place on the day?
Round Three of the 2015 NSW Motocross Junior State Titles will be held on the 6th and 7th June at our Cowarra Access Road track. We will have the best of the state’s and interstate’s plus local riders competing over the course of the two day event.
The ages of the competitors will range from four years through to 16 years old, and the competition will consist of over nine classes.
Will we be able to witness any champion riders in action over the course of the two days?
Yes, there will be past and current state title holders and national champions competing over the weekend.
What facilities will be available on the race days … Will there be entertainment besides the motorcycle action, refreshment stands etc.?
There will be full canteen facilities, toilets, spectacular viewing areas to see all the terrific race action and a great, fun family atmosphere.
Who are some of the local community groups and/or individuals you’d like to thank for supporting or sponsoring the Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club?
