Hastings Choristers are Jazzin’ It Up

Hastings Choristers next concert on Thursday, September 20 sees a real change of pace from their more traditional repertoire.

This time they are really “Jazzin’ it up”, bringing to the audience light, bright, Jazzy music, as well as including in the programme old favourites such as Danny Boy.

The harmonious renditions of songs from many styles and eras, for which The Hastings Choristers are famous, will delight the audience.

In addition, The Choristers are teaming up with Jazz band Reds Quintet in this concert. Reds Quintet has been a fixture at the Bago Vineyards Jazz Days for over twenty years, and at Jazz Sundays at Panthers and the Westport Club. They will be performing many numbers, including favourite pieces, such as a Miles Davis set from the Kind Of Blue album, and accompanying the Choristers in a final set of songs arranged especially for the concert – which should be lots of fun! The concert also includes some solo performances from talented locals.

Another surprise is that the concert is being held Thursday, September 20, 6:30 to 8pm in the new Cape Ballroom at Sails Resort in Port Macquarie. Come along, bring your friends, get a peek at Sails’ beautiful new venue, have a wine (or two) and some food, while enjoying a real toe-tapping night of wonderful music and fun! Tickets ($20 adults, $10 school students) are available at the Glasshouse Box Office or at the door on the night of the concert.
